Joe Robles Calvillo, “Chepe,” was born Feb. 18 1940 and passed away on Jan. 22, 2019.

Joe joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating from Globe High School in 1958.

After his basic training, he went to ground support equipment school at Frances E. Warren AFB in Wyoming.

Joe graduated and got his first assignment as a ground support equipment mechanic at Loring AFB in Main. He spent his six months there and then assigned to Guam for 18 months, then was assigned to Bunker Hill, Ind. After he served his four years tour, he was discharged and returned to his hometown of Globe.

He went to work for the mine as a hauling truck driver, driving trucks 40 to 240 tons and weight. He also worked at underground mine in Superior for six years and Eagle Mountain mine in California. Then he drove an 18-wheeler all over the United States and Canada.

Joe was married four times. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Raymond Joe and Maggie Calvillo; his brother Raymond and sister Carol Calvillo. 

He is survived by his sister Helen C. Navarro and husband Lupe Navarro. His nephew John and Lisa Marquez; niece Mary Ellen Dass; four great-nephews and one great niece. Joe also had five children: Lisa Roberts, Debbie Gonzales, Cathe Swope, Dino Calvillo and Augustine Calvillo. Grandchildren, Rachel Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Sarah Gonzales, Steven Gonzales, Justin Swope, Zachery Swope, Marissa Calvillo, Tori Calvillo, Zachery Calvillo, Tresta Pena, Christian Calvillo, Auliyah Cruz and Alie Cruz. Five great-grandchildren: Angel Calvillo, Abel Gonzales, Brianna Gonzales, Avianna Gonzales and Autum Calvillo. 

Joe loved classic cars and restored a 1950 Ford two-door Mercury sedan. He loved his four little dogs. He had a huge place in his heart for these little babies. He will be greatly missed. May God bless him and keep him in peace.
