Jeanette Louise Carter-Weathers

Posted

Born July 1 1938 to her beloved parents in Miami, Jeanette Louise Carter-Weathers, a lifetime resident of the Globe-Miami community, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones, Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Jeanette, known by family and community as “Jan,” enjoyed her many years working in grocery retail at both Ramsey’s and Safeway. Jan proudly served her community charities through the local chapter of the Emblem Club. In retirement, her entrepreneurial spirit melded with her love of cooking and crafts; she opened Red Robin Flower Boutique and crafted her Meat-n-Potato Pasties to sell throughout the area. Nothing, however, could surpass her genuine love and care of her husband, her parents and siblings, her grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, children, and both grand and great-grandchildren. In the family house each year at Thanksgiving, which is legendary in the family circle, she corralled all the children and grandchildren, her elders and siblings for a genuine homemade feast.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ronald J. Weathers, whom she loved dearly. Together always, they took fishing trips with her in-laws and children. Quite the traveler, Jan with her Aunties enjoyed their Bingo extravaganzas to the reservation casinos and the overnight soirees in Laughlin and Vegas with Ronnie.

A true-hearted caring and giving person, Jan is missed by all her family, friends and the community she cherished.
