James J Sullivan, age 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Cobra Valley Regional Medical Center.
He was married to Joanne Louise Sullivan for 49 years. He was born Dec. 10, 1939, in St Paul, Minn. to Harriet Agnes (Carpenter) and Francis Sullivan. James had a brother, Jerry Sullivan and sister, Janice Von Ession.
James served his country in the U.S. Army and as a volunteer firefighter in Bayhead, New Jersey until he retired and moved to Globe, in 2001. He loved hunting, fishing, the mountains and “chasing” lighthouses.
He is survived by his son, Michael W. Sullivan, and grandson Michael Angelo; his daughter, Rebecca L. (Sullivan) Patterson; her husband, Van Patterson; and grandchildren Alisha, Chelsi, Adrianna, and great-grandson, Xander, as well as his extended family Sonia Boyd, Ernie Valenzuela, Terra Visnaw, Braelynn (Bug) Visnaw and Madelynn (Matie) Visnaw.
He will always be remembered for being a man that truly loved and respected his wife, Joanne, and how much he suffered for her loss when she passed.
