Hortencia E. Martinez, age 81, of Globe, Ariz. passed away on November 4, 2017 at Haven of Globe Nursing Home in Globe, Ariz.
She was born in Silver City, NM on August 4, 1936 the daughter of Rumaldo and Margarita (Santana) Esquivel.
Hortencia attended Globe Schools. She had several jobs working at La Casita, Adell’s, Snowcap, El Rey Restaurant in Miami, AZ. She also took E.M.T. classes and later became a Certified Nurses Assistant working at Gila General Hospital for over 20 years.
Hortencia enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and treasured friend. She will be missed by family and all those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Domingo L. Martinez in 2000, her brothers Artie and P.T. and her sister Maggie.
Hortencia is survived by her children; Edward Ozeata (Linda), Michael Ozeata and Gloria Phillips, eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, her sisters; Connie, Phyllis, Mary Lou, Toni, Helen, Libby and Jenny, her brothers; Mingo, Joey and Bobby.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe, Ariz..
Graveside Services will follow at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami, Ariz. at 1:00 p.m.
