Cooler overnight temperatures on the Habanero Fire helped decrease fire activity. Fire is at 3,400 acres and firefighters are making progress with containment efforts. Crews are using natural barriers and roadways to tie in containment lines and will continue suppressing interior hotspots and providing protection to structures and infrastructure to the north of the fire. Afternoon winds and warm temperatures may increase fire activity again and it is possible smoke could impact the Globe-area.
A Type 1 Helicopter will provide additional support for ground crews today. Approximately 40 personnel are assigned to the fire. There are no evacuations at this time.
Residents should be familiar with the Ready, Set, Go Program - https://ein.az.gov/ready-set-go and sign up for emergency alerts through their County's emergency management office. For more information on the Habanero Fire visit Inciweb at https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/maps/7252/
