GPD seizes drugs, makes arrests in Walmart parking lot

On Wednesday, Aug. 5, Globe Police Officers were dispatched to Walmart in Globe, Ariz. in reference to a shoplifting incident. During the investigation, a female subject was contacted and found to be in possession of narcotic pills. Further investigation revealed she was accompanied by a male subject who was waiting for her outside.
Globe Police Officers conducted a consensual encounter with the male subject in the Walmart parking lot.  During the encounter, indicators of criminal activity were observed and the male subject admitted to possessing additional contraband include illegal drugs.
As a result of the encounter, approximately 54.5 grams of Methamphetamine, 159 narcotic pills and two firearms were seized.  Officers also located a large amount of drug paraphernalia and evidence of illegal drug sales within the vehicle.

With the assistance of the Gila County Drug, Gang and Violent Crimes Task Force, it was determined both subjects were transporting the illegal drugs out of state.
The Methamphetamine seized has an approximate street value of $6,000.00, the narcotic pills have an approximate street value of $4,770
Charles Anthony Perea, 46, Phoenix, Arizona was arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Transportation of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Possession of Narcotic Drugs for Sale, Transportation of Narcotic Drugs for Sale, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misconduct Involving Weapons and Use of an electronic communication device in a drug related offense.
Nykee Elizabeth Scruggs, 22 of Phoenix, Arizona was arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Transportation of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Possession of Narcotic Drugs for Sale, Transportation of Narcotic Drugs for Sale, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Shoplifting.
