COOLIDGE — The Tigers Wrestling team traveled to Coolidge, Arizona on January 12 and 13 to participate in the 22nd Annual Coolidge Lions Club Wrestling Tournament.
Tiger Freshman Seth Durbin competed in the 120 pound weight class and made a remarkable comeback after his first and third loss and ended day one with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses but could not compete on day two due to illness.
Cutter Burgett proudly finished the tournament with a 4th place in the 126# class.
Cody Burgett usually wrestles at the 132 #weight class but challenged his wrestling skills in preparation for the upcoming Payson and sectional tournament by taking on the tougher 138# weight class and finished with a well earned 3rd place.
Riley Cline once again dominated the 182# weight class, ending the tournament undefeated and earning a 1st place.
Other wrestlers who participated in the tournament were Jonathan Ortega and Luke Burgett.
Coach Duarte and assistant Coach Aaron Salcido would like to proudly extend their gratitude to the dedicated athletes who represented the Globe Tiger wrestling program and the friends and families who traveled to support the wrestlers.
The next scheduled tournament will be the Tim Van Horn Memorial Tournament in Payson, Az., on January 19th and 20th.
