Track teams from Globe and San Carlos traveled to the 34th annual Safford Rotary Invitational on Friday, April 12 and came away with medals in running and other track events.
Shanaya Victor of San Carlos earned fourth place in girls 800 meters and a second for her team’s second place finish in the girls’ 4x800 meter relay.
Anthony Hopkins earned a fourth in the 3200-meter race. Raymond Sneezy was awarded a fourth place in the 300-meter hurdles and Palicio Ramos got fourth place in the Javelin throw with a throw of 127 ft. 2 in.
Globe’s Abrahm Aragon got one second place medal for throwing the discus 129 ft. 9 in., and Muriel Nosie placed sixth and fifth in the 800- and 1600-meter races respectively.
