Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren were in attendance. The only family missing was grandson Jamie and wife Amanda who just recently moved to Peru with two great-grandchildren. Of special note was the attendance of grandsons, Mikas and Gino “Giniki” Zappia, who spent several summers with grandparents and attended Summer Youth Musical Theater Programs.
Friends from Gila Pueblo College, Gila County Historical Society, Odd Fellows Lodge and other places were in attendance.
One bit of excitement occurred when granddaughter Cara Slotkin and fiancé Ethan Crook returned from a sightseeing trip to Roosevelt Lake with news of their engagement.
Grandparents, Jim and JoEllen Davis, intend to be at the wedding tentatively planned for August 2019 when it is projected that Cara will complete a Master in Education Degree.
