On Saturday, March 3, the Globe Public Library utilized its outdoor space to hold the annual Dr. Seuss Birthday celebration. Free books were distributed by the Gila Reading Council to children of all ages and Gila County Animal Control sponsored a booth based on the book “What Pet Should I Get?” Councilmember Charlene Giles read aloud to children, and there were free hotdogs, cake, crafts, games, Dr. Seuss characters and many literacy activities.
More than 300 people attended the event. Thanks to the volunteers, the United Fund of Globe-Miami, and Friends of the Globe Public Library for making this event possible.
