GLOBE — Globe’s girls overawed Ben Franklin Academy 57 to 48.
The Lady Tigers only out-scored the Ben Franklin Chargers by one point in the first quarter, 13 to 12. But after that it was Katie bar the door.
By the half they led by 15 due to 9 baskets by the Lady Tigers, including two three pointers by Jolainna Bendle and Alexis Fall.
Laura Dalton put in three baskets for 6 points. She was Globe’s highest scorer with 16 points for the game including two free throws.
In the third and fourth quarters, the Chargers out-scored Globe but not by enough.
Second highest scorer for Globe was Kayla Howard, who could most often be seen bringing the ball back down the court, with 13 points.
Shawna Talgo made four baskets for 8 points, and Alexis Fall put in two 3-pointers for 6 points. Sissalle Kindelay helped relieve the doldrums of the third quarter with her three-point basket.
Jolainna Bendle added to the breakout in the 2nd quarter with her 3 pointer. Symone Placencio scored 8 points with two sets of free throws.
Not one Tiger missed one free throw, which would contribute six points of the nine-point Tiger lead at the end of the game.
