Globe City Council Turkey Challenge

Posted

The Globe City Council would like to challenge other Globe-Miami Community groups and individuals to a Turkey Challenge, let’s see who can raise the most turkey donations for our Gila County Food Bank.

Upon hearing from Patty Nolan, a Food Bank board member, that there will be a shortage of turkeys from Valley food banks for this Thanksgiving, the Globe City Council decided to lead the effort to provide turkeys for local families in need.

The Gila County Food Bank serves an average of 500 families per month, and is run entirely by volunteers.  If you would like to donate a turkey, please drop it off at the Food Bank, 317 W. Hackney Ave in Globe, Monday – Friday, from 9 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.  Please have your donations to the Food Bank by Tuesday, November 21.

So let’s go Town of Miami and Gila County, let’s get a friendly competition going to rally for our community!

Other organizations, please feel free to issue your own Turkey Throw Down, and call out others to this challenge.
