Gila County approves tax rates

Posted

Globe — The Gila County Board of Supervisors officially approved the tax rates for all jurisdictions for the 2017-18 fiscal year at its regular meeting on Aug. 21.

The board’s action at the meeting approves the tax rates set by special taxing districts, such as fire and school districts, and sets the County primary tax rate, which has not increased for eight consecutive years.

Approving these tax rates is required by state law and allows the Gila County Treasurer to collect taxes on behalf of the various entities. Gila County Finance’s Olivia Todd (pictured, above right) presented the item to the board.
