Globe-Miami — Have you ever been to Carnegie Hall to hear a great performer? Have you ever had the chance to visit with a performer who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame or been nominated for Grammy Awards? These are the type of quality performers that Community Concert consistently brings to the Globe-Miami area.

With 62 successful seasons behind it, the Globe-Miami Community Concert Association is looking forward to the start of another season! It is the only non-profit organization in the Globe-Miami area with the sole mission of bringing quality professional musicians to perform here.

The Board of Directors works on a volunteer basis and is always looking for quality performers who offer a variety of musical forms to entertain as well as foster musical appreciation.

Over the years, the scope of the Association has changed and broadened. Many people think of the Community Concert as an organization that presents only classical music. In fact, performers offer a wide range of styles, from classical to pop. The goal is to have a balance in the types of music presented.

Outreach to the students of the area is another important part of the Globe-Miami Community Concert Association, with some of the performers going directly to the schools to perform and interact with students.  Complimentary tickets are given to  schools in the area for each concert so interested students can be introduced to live musical performances in a concert setting.

We have also extended our Outreach Program to our citizens who are in the long-term care facilities in our area. They are welcomed to our concerts.

Again this season, three concerts will be held in the Miami High School Auditorium and three concerts will be held at the High Desert Middle School Auditorium.  All performances will begin at 7 p.m.  Admission to the concerts is by membership and the price for that is only $40 for adults. That membership entitles the member to attend all six concerts.  It’s a great deal.

The membership schedule includes special rates for students and for families to help make the concerts available to everyone. The membership cost is as follows: Adults - $40; students - $10; families - $90; single parent families - $50.

Season tickets are available at the desk at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center, at the White Porch in Globe, or by mailing in a membership form from the brochure. Brochures are available at both the Globe and Miami libraries, the Chamber of Commerce, both senior centers, the Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center, the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts, White Porch, Bullion Plaza Museum and Cultural Center, Gila County Historical Museum, United Jewelry, the Copper Hen and the Galleria in Miami.

If you aren’t convinced yet about what a great deal this is, there are even more benefits. Out of town guests are welcomed to the concerts free of charge when they are accompanied by a member. Also, there is reciprocity with other associations in Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado that members to attend those concerts free of charge.

That $40 membership goes a long way! Come enjoy the music, meet the performers, and mingle with your friends and neighbors. It’s a great family activity! You won’t be sorry!
