Friends of the NRA give thanks for successful 19th annual fundraiser

Your local Cobre Valley Friends of the NRA Committee would like to give a special thank you for all who participated and supported our event/auction/dinner and raffles. We are proud to report our net profit was $30,241.57. As we all know we had some rough setbacks from 2020 and 2021, with our events being canceled for reasons beyond our control. We would like to pay homage to all of our sponsors, contributors, local residents and out-of-towners who attended our grand event. As we all know, this helps our township’s economy and who knows we may even get some new property buyers in our area. We have so much to be proud of here in our area and you proved it.

We are extremely proud we all are doing our part to protect and honor our 2nd Amendment. This is our right, simply because we are American citizens who will not back down from terrorists or terrorism. God Bless America.

Committee members: Scottie Harris – Chair, Ashley Harris – Event Treasurer, Wendy Baughman – Press Release PR, Sergeant of Arms – Eddie Valenzuela, Chuck Willis, Josh Branham.

A very special recognition to Mike “Doc” Durham, Bill Marshall and Peter Shaffer, NRA Field Representative Ronald Capalongan, Auctioneer Homer Sanders, Raffle ticket sales ladies Tracy and Jessica, Firearm Transfers (your hard work made this possible) Lee Kinnard of Dominion Firearms LLC, Catering provided by D.J.’s Casa Darlene Jonovich and we cannot forget our advertisers, KQSS, KIKO and the Arizona Silver Belt and Copper Country News. Table Sponsors: Boady Kervin, David Cook, Renea Shaffer, Lorrie Andrade, Wendy Baughman, Horne Motors and Kevin Long. Donors and underwriters: Tractor Supply, Chuck and Mickey Willis, Brent and Karen Caraway, Globe-Miami Gun Club, Hoofin’ It Mini Ranch, Wendy Baughman, Naomi Williams, Kino Floors, Wreck O’ Mended, Splash of Copper Art Gallery and Gifts, Dottie Durham, Jim and Dorothy Ownsby, Keith Murray, Ed’s La Casita East, Keith Gustafson, Jim and Jenny Grinder, J & B Trucking, State Farm – Cami Lucero, Anna Ortiz, Dominion Firearms, C & M Guns and Things, Horne’s, Emmett Dickison, Dawson Shaffer, McSpadden Ford, Scottie and Ashley Harris, and Pete and Renea Shaffer.

The longest service veteran member was Brent Caraway, the paratrooper statue, auction winner Wendy Baughman presented it to him with pride.

I do not have a total list of all the great donations that were in the live auction, bucket draws an silent auction. I will say this, they were all a great hit and did very well. Your help is why we were only $2,000 under this year from making premium income; next year let’s push for it.

Mark us on your calendar for the April 29, 2023 FNRA event - same place, same time.

We have not forgotten all of our great people who worked so hard to make this a success; sometimes it just takes time to get all of our updates for you. If I missed anyone, please forgive me and remember you are deeply appreciated. So many fabulous volunteers; just remember we could not have done this without your help and we are so proud to have you as part of our team.

For more information or to join the Cobre Valley FNRA Committee, please contact Ashley or Scottie Harris, depash369@gmail.com, Chuck Willis, Globe-Miami Gun Club, 520-284-0193, or Wendy Baughman, hoofinit8@gmail.com.

So my dear friends, until next year, God bless you all. Stay safe and join us again for another FNRA Event/Auction/Raffle in 2023. This is our way of protecting our 2nd Amendment rights to own firearms, to protect our families, our property, our Constitutional rights, which should never be infringed upon.

May God Bless America, our veterans, each and every one of you patriots.

Wendy Baughman
