GLOBE — The Infant-Toddler Mental Health Coalition of Arizona presents training on Autism on Friday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants will learn to diagnose Autism and whether they can diagnose an 18-month-old with Autism. Questions about Autism and many others will be answered during this presentation. Bob Klaehn, M.D. Board Certified Child Psychiatrist and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) will be the main presenter at the training. He is currently a Medical Director for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, assisting in benefit management for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Later that afternoon, there will be training in advocating for young children in foster care from 1-3 p.m.

In this training, students will explore the unique emotional needs of young children in foster care and identify opportunities to support and advocate for them. Leading this training will be Genett Tomko, Child Therapist and Clinical Supervisor specializing in treatment services for children birth to 5 years old.

She has been working with children in foster care in Arizona for18 years. She has been chair of Training and Education for the Infant/Toddler Mental Health Coalition of AZ.

Daycare will not be provided.

The training will take place at High Desert Middle School located at 4000 High Desert Dr., Globe.
