Frank “Poncho” Edward Padgett, 65, a lifelong resident of Globe, Ariz. passed away peacefully at Mountain Visa Medical Center on March 19, 2017.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Penni; his son, Matthew (Alyxandra) and four daughter; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; his parents, Louise Gillock and Edward Padgett; his siblings, Cecil “Sam” Padgett, Katherine Fansler, Suzanne Sawyer, Frances Ann Kayona, Todd Gillock; and numerous step siblings and nieces and nephews.

Frank had numerous careers during his lifetime, which included underground miner, truck driver, carpenter, Department of Corrections Officer, Highway Patrol Officer, and Arizona Department of Transportation Employee. He will be remembered by his fellow workers for his tireless work ethic and commitment to the job at hand.

His greatest pleasures in life were spending time with his wife and son, family and friends, hunting, exploring the great state of Arizona, riding his motorcycle and working on his dream house in Young. Most importantly, he loved reading scripture and sharing his faith with his family and friends.

Frank will be missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him. He was a diamond in the rough. Everyone whose life Frank touched is asked to celebrate his life in their own way. Raising a glass of their favorite brew in his memory would be very appropriate.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Gila County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, by phone at 800-805-5856, by mail at 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org/donate.
