Forrest Hammer, 61

Forrest V. Hammer was born on Oct. 11, 1958 to Eugene and Ethel Hammer in Warrensburg, Missouri. During his early years, he attended elementary school in New York City. In 1967, his family moved to Miami, Ariz. where he attended school and graduated from Miami High School in 1977. After high school, Forrest attended Gila Pueblo College where he earned three AA degrees. While attending college he met and married his wife of 37 years, Debra.

Although he worked in several different employment fields during his life, the one that gave him the most pleasure and satisfaction was working in the mortuary business, helping families in their time of need.

Forrest served as a volunteer firefighter in the Tri-City Fire Department for 10 years (He was a awesome Santa Claus). Was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed singing in the church choir.  He was also a member of the White Mountain Masonic Lodge #3 where he received the honor of being named Mason of the Year in 2013.

He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and especially fishing. He loved to make his own flies for fly fishing. He also found that he enjoyed turning wood into beautiful pens and pencils which he usually donated to help raise funds for needed causes.

Forrest is survived by his wife Debra, his sister Doreen, his sister-in-law Connie, several uncles, his niece Isabella, and nephews Robert, James and Adam. He was preceded in death by his daughter Meghan Lynne, his parents, his grandparents and several aunts and uncles. There will never be another “Frosty”

Funeral Services were be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26,  at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

Interment in Globe Cemetery.
