MIAMI — Danny Flores Garcia was invited to the second round for US football. Danny who is a defensive tackle for the Miami Vandals, previously attended a two day skills camp in Gilbert, and was told he’d be notified in June if he made it into the next round.
After receiving the notice that his next camp would be in Texas, Danny cleaned yards and received a few donations so he’d be able to attend.
They traveled the 14 hours, one way to Arlington, Tx for three days.
There were 2400 students invited to attend the second round out of the original 8000.
The next notification of whether he made the team will come sometime around September.
The opportunity to get this far and the work it took to get their was such an honor and the Garcia’s are thankful for it.
