Final days for early voting

This is the final week to vote early before the Aug. 2 primary election. Gila County Recorder Sadie Bingham and her staff have arranged special early voting dates in towns across the county over the past few weeks. The last of these will be in Hayden-Winkelman on Thursday, July 28 at Winkelman Town Hall from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Voters are also welcome to stop by the Gila County Recorder’s Office at the county courthouse building, 1400 E. Ash St. in Globe, and cast their ballot in person until Friday, July 29. The Recorder’s Office is open weekdays from 8-5, but make sure to arrive well before 5 p.m. so you have plenty of time to fi ll out that ballot. Voters may also drop a ballot in the secure blue box at the building’s northwest corner, or at these additional locations where secure ballot dropboxes are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

* Miami Police Station, 740 Sullivan St. in  Miami

* Roosevelt Fire Station, 75 East Capel in Roosevelt

* Tonto Basin Fire Station, 46189 Hwy. 188 in Tonto Basin

* Hayden Town Hall, 520 Velasco Ave. in Hayden

* Young Public Library, 47661 Hwy. 288 in Young

* Mitchell Hoffman Administrative Building, San Carlos

Aug. 2 Primary: Poll & Vote Center Locations

Gila County has six vote centers, which will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Any registered voter may receive and cast their official ballot at any of the six vote centers, which include: Globe Elks Lodge, 1910 E. Maple St. in Globe, and Miami High School, 4635 E. Ragus Rd. in Miami. The county has 11 precinct polling sites, including: Copper Basin, Hayden/Winkelman School, 824 Thorn Ave. in Winkelman; Roosevelt, Sierra Ancha Roosevelt Baptist Church, 18659 Hwy. 188; Tonto Basin Chamber of Commerce, 45675 Hwy. 188; Young, Pleasant Valley Community Center; Canyon Day Junior High School, 4621 S. 9th St. in Canyon Day; Carrizo Assembly of God Church, V - 10 Road; and San Carlos, Rice Gym at Mohave Avenue & Yavapai Street.
