Molly Cornwell, with the Downtown Globe Association, spoke to both the Miami Town Council at its Oct. 22 regular meeting as well as the Globe City Council at its Oct. 23 regular meeting on an upcoming feature film production in both communities.

Cornwell said the film’s working title is “Patsy Lee and the Keepers of the Five Kingdoms,” by Brilliant Screen Productions. Cornwell described it as a “family film in homage to ‘Goonies’ and ‘Big Trouble, Little China,’ and more.”

Filming is scheduled to take place in the Globe-Miami area from Thursday, Nov. 8 through Wednesday, Nov. 14., with some pick-up scenes in early December.

They are looking for up to 80 crew, actors and extras of all ages. The film location e-mail is lgmglobe@gmail.com.

Some of the crew will be on site before the shoot and are planning a walk-in casting call. They are looking for catering bids and more.

For further information, contact Cornwell, with the Globe Downtown Association, at 480-345-7477. The film is directed by Zack Ward, who is better known as the bully “Scut Farkus” in the movie “Christmas Story;” the director of photography is Ace Underhill, and it is produced by James Hong and Jamie Harr.

Later during its meeting, the Miami Town Council unanimously approved closure of Plaza Avenue and the entrance to Bullion Plaza Museum on Monday, Nov. 12, for the filming of the movie.
