Farmers’ Market is alive and well

Globe — Yes, it is hot in the Arizona sun, but the Market is still open to the public on Saturday mornings.

We invite everybody to share in the shade of the trees at the Veterans Memorial Park. We are happy to have Bob Zache returning this year with his fantastic produce. Bob has a year-round garden and he grows some awesome stuff. The artichokes that he grows are a beautiful purple and green and they are very large and tasty.

He is best recognized for his homegrown loofa sponges and his garlic. There are many other things that he brings to Market. Come by and visit with him and shop his harvest.

The luck is with us, because we have Coty Callahan returning with her wonderful baked breads and cookies. She heats up her kitchen in the Valley and comes up here to provide deliciousness to our customers at Market.

Her breads are fresh and tasty, but I have a liking for her Little Piggy cookies. She has found just the right recipe and I am happy to have them for my Saturday morning breakfast treat.

We have many new visitors so far, and more vendors have asked for details on how to become a part of this local event. If you have never been, come on down. The bell rings at 8 a.m.
