Engracia Quintanilla, 74

Posted

Mrs. Engracia Cano Quintanilla, age 74, departed this life on July 17, 2021 at her home in Miami, Az. She was born April 16, 1947 in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico to Luis Cano and Adriana Ojeda.

Engracia moved to the Globe/Miami area in 1980 and grew her family with her late husband, Mr. Pedro Quintanilla. Not only was Engracia a talented cook, well-known for her delicious tamales she sold around the community for many years, she was also a dedicated homemaker. The difficulties throughout her life shaped Engracia into the strong, feisty woman we all remember. Beneath that hardened disguise, Engracia was truly a caring woman. With God in her heart, she lived her life influenced by the following biblical verse:

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27).

Family was everything to her; she helped anybody in need and her home was a sanctuary to all. In her final moments, Engracia expressed contentment in knowing she would soon be reunited with her beloved firstborn son, Arturo Cano, who passed away in 2020 and had also been faithfully devoted to God and his family. Mrs. Quintanilla is survived by her children Carlos Estrada, Gustavo Estrada, Jorge Estrada, Maria Jost, Louis Estrada, Pedro Quintanilla and Anna Quintanilla. She also leaves behind a legacy of 37 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 23, 2021.

Assisting the family; Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
