Dorthey Konczak was born in 1919 and resided in Globe most of her life. She was born in Happy, Texas. Her parents, Elmer Noble and Ora Hendrix were farmers of English descent. Dot went to a Christian college, living with her grandmother while attending. During this time, she met “The most handsome man I had ever seen.” Dot and Tip married and moved to Arizona where Tip worked in the copper mines. In 1945, Dot gave birth to a girl, Linda. After being a homemaker, Dot went back to school, becoming an elementary school teacher. She was also a member of the Elks and active at her Lutheran Church. Dorthey is survived by her granddaughter Alexandra; husband Forrest and eight-month-old great-grandson Murphy.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 12-2 p.m. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe. Interment services will be private. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
