Dorothy J. Briggs passed away in Chandler, Ariz. on Aug. 17, 2018, one month shy of her 98th birthday. Born in Oakland, Calif., she lived in the Globe-Miami area from 1955 until 1982 when her late husband, Richard Briggs, retired from Inspiration Copper and they moved to Queen Valley, Ariz.
However, they continued to visit the Globe-Miami area 2-4 times each month through 2002. Mrs. Briggs then lived independently in Mesa, Ariz. until 2017.
Dorothy was known for her strong devotion to her husband and family, her sense of humor, her wonderful baking, and her acceptance of everyone.
Mrs. Briggs was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and by her oldest son, Dan. She is survived by her sons James and Michael, as well as eight grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. Visitation was held at Seasons End Mortuary in Apache Junction on Aug. 23, 2018.
