Dorothy Hasslbauer, 88

Dorothy Hasslbauer passed away at Friendship Village Healthcare Center on Sept. 30, 2019 in Tempe, Ariz. due to stroke related dementia. She was 88.

Dorothy was born on Dec. 23, 1930 in Joliet, IL to her parents, John and Dorothy Clark. After graduating high school she trained in radiology. She completed her training and accepted a position at Miami Inspiration Hospital in Miami, Ariz. where she worked as an X-Ray Technician and Department Head for 39 years. She married Manny Hasslbauer in 1956. The family resided in the Miami Gardens neighborhood for 12 years and later moved to downtown Miami, AZ. In 2007, Dorothy joined the retirement community at Friendship Village where she lived until her passing.

Dorothy was known for her wicked sense of humor, love of musical theater and ice cream.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Michael, his wife Tanya Hasslbauer and her two grandchildren Rebecca and Matthew Hasslbauer of Eagle, ID; her daughter Karen and son-in-law Douglas Burke of Gilbert, Ariz.; step-daughter Samantha and her husband Rick Pierce of Camano Island, WA. Dorothy is also survived by her sister Margaret Werner and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Manny.
