Dominion for Her celebrates grand opening

Posted

GLOBE - “It’s about more than cutting hair,” said Javier Membrila as he addressed a crowded Dominion Cutting Co. on Thursday night. “There’s something great about visiting with clients and hearing about their day.”

“It’s really about the dream,” said Johnnyd Flores. “I left a good job to follow a dream that I had for myself and really for Globe too.”

Opening shop in downtown’s historic 1909 Gila Valley National Bank building in October 2018, the crew has been beyond busy, quickly becoming a mainstay in Globe’s business district, where the lack of a neighborhood barbershop was evident.

“It’s not work when you love what you do,” added Membrila.

A re-grand opening welcomed the public on Thursday, Jan. 9 to check out the historic building along with the barber shop and the newly renovated upstairs.

Dominion Cutting Co. has now expanded to offer Dominion for Her. Stylist Maritza Hurtado and nail tech April Mikeworth will be occupying the upstairs of Dominion Cutting Co. promising a wide range of services including manicures, pedicures, eyebrow waxing, eyebrow tinting as well as eyelash curling, along with the standard cuts, colors and perms. “I’m so excited to see what’s to come of this,” said Hurtado. “I’m looking forward to the future.”

For Mikeworth, who pointed out the fresh pink paint on the bathroom walls, this new partnership has been a dream come true. “Everything came together quickly and I’m looking forward to see how we progress.”
