Dion “Ray” Dalmolin, 61

Dion “Ray” Dalmolin, age 61, passed away peacefully through the veil on Augst 15, 2017 in Safford, Arizona.  He was born to Richard Virgil Dalmolin and Melva Hegbloom on December 14, 1955 in Globe, Arizona.   Ray graduated from Globe High School and he was married to the love of his life, Cheryl Dalmolin for over twenty-five (25) years.

Ray was a hard-working man and proudly served his community as a hotshot firefighter at the Tonto Basin Ranger Station in Gila County, Arizona.  He also worked at the Coke Cola plant in Globe, Arizona and at the Woodland Building Center in Springerville, Arizona.  Ray has been residing in Safford, Arizona for the past four (4) years.  He enjoyed the mountains and collecting trinkets.  Ray was a very, very good-natured individual.  Ray was also given the nickname “die hard” for his perseverance through the tough times in his life.  He loved football and was an Oakland Raiders fan.

Ray is preceded in death by his beloved father, Richard Virgil Dalmolin and his beloved brother, Anthony Neil “Didder” Johnson.

Ray is survived by his loving and caring family, his mother, Melva Hegbloom; his devoted wife, Cheryl Dalmolin; his son, James (Paulina) Wimberly; his daughter, Amanda (Steve) Alexander; his brothers, Monte (Diana) Johnson, James “Dick” Dalmolin, Wayne (Barb) Dalmolin; and Bret Dalmolin; his sister, Tammy Dalmolin and many beautiful nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service in honor of Dion “Ray” Dalmolin was held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Claypool, Ariz.
