Barry Thomas DeRose has been accepted into the 2020 entering class at the Drexel University College of Medicine.
Barry is a third generation native of Globe and graduated from Globe High School in 2006. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arizona in microbiology in 2010, Barry enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably for five years. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division in March 2017.
Barry entered graduate school at Drexel University in the fall of 2018 and received his master’s degree with honors in medical studies in May 2020. Barry will begin his studies towards his MD degree this August.
Barry is the son of Globe Residents Colleen and Jerry DeRose and Grandson of Globe resident Joann Barry.
