Payson — On Sunday, at approximately 9:26 a.m., the Gila County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a suicidal subject in the Beaver Valley community, just north of Payson.
Deputies responded and shots were fired. The Beaver Valley and Whispering Pines fire departments were dispatched to the scene.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety has been called to investigate the incident.
Sheriff Shepherd would like to the thank Beaver Valley Fire Department, the Whispering Pines Fire Department and the Arizona Department of Public Safety for their coordinating response.
