Danny Edward Evans, 70, passed away at his home in Globe, Ariz. on June 14, 2018, surrounded by his family. Dan was a lifelong resident of Globe, born Dec. 30, 1947. He graduated from Globe High School in May 1967 and volunteered for military service in the United States Navy in September 1967. He was stationed for boot camp in Long Beach, Calif., and completed Anti-Submarine Warfare School. He was stationed for one year in Adak, Alaska, then one year in San Diego, Calif. and also completed four years of Naval Reserves. He completed Farrier school in Texas, July, 1978. Dan worked for Copper Cities and Pinto Valley Mines, and then the Gila County Sheriff’s office.

Dan had a life-long love affair with the outdoors, horses, western dancing and country music. He was an accomplished, self-taught guitarist and singer, a love he often shared with loved ones. He was also an accomplished auto mechanic, a skill that he shared with students that he taught on the reservation.

Dan is welcomed into heaven by his father, Robert E. Evans, his mother, Lila E. Evans and his great-granddaughter, McKenzie Jackson. He is survived by his life companion, Betty Clark; a daughter, Susan Penrod, of Apache Junction; a son, Joshua Evans, of Globe; four grandchildren, Mark Daou and Kayla Jackson, of Mesa and Brayden Evans and Gabrielle Evans, of Globe, and one great-granddaughter, Bella Jackson, of Mesa.

There will not be services at the request of Dan. He asked that there be instead, a Celebration of his Life while he was still here and able to enjoy it with his family. We were so lucky to be able to do this for him. He will be forever loved and forever missed, but he will always remain in our hearts.
