Forty-nine-year-old Gary Seabrook, of England, stopped in Globe recently during his 3,000-mile journey from San Diego to St. Augustine, Fla. in an effort to raise $3,000 for Greenpeace because “the work they do in invaluable.” Those who wish to donate may do so on Seabrook’s JustGiving page, which can be found at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gary-seabrook3. As of his stop last week in Globe after cycling 550 miles so far, Seabrook had reached 51 percent of his donation goal over 17 days on the road. “Greenpeace is close to my heart,” he told the Silver Belt. “I am happiest when I am outside. I love the natural world,” which Greenpeace is working to save.
