Charley 'Chuck' B. Ayers, 83

Charley “Chuck” B. Ayers, age 83, of Globe, Ariz.passed away on April 30, 2017 at Haven of Globe Nursing Home. He was born in Hope, Arkansas on Feb. 8, 1934, the son of George W. and Bessie (Phillips) Ayers.

He was the brother to five brothers and two sisters. Charley and Mary were married for 63 years. He was retired and had worked for Sears as an appliance salesman. He was a star salesman for 10 years in Globe before being transferred to Farmington, N.M. to open the new Sears store.

Living there for nine and a half years, he then transferred to Mesa, Ariz. He also helped start the Sears store in Flagstaff. After his retirement from the Superstition Sears Store in 1996, he came to live in Globe to enjoy retirement life. He was a member of the Globe Nazarene Church, where he sang in the Cantatas.

He was very talented as an artist, an excellent wood worker and a gardener. Chuck helped many people in many ways.

He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Daniel Ayers Charley. He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Ayers; his daughter, Janis M. Ayers, four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held on June 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. at River of Life Church in Central Heights, Ariz.
