Save the Date! Globe Miami Centennial Band will perform their Fall Concert on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m., in the Miami High School Auditorium. This concert will feature all new selections for both the Concert Band and the Jazz Band.
Once again, director, Nolan Frost, has chosen a program you are sure to enjoy. Concert band selections include a trio of songs by Gustav Holst, a Symphonic salute to Mt. Rushmore, Folk Music, and compositions by John Williams. The Jazz band will mix things up with Steely Dan’s Kid Charlemagne, Blues and Jazz standards, and Carol King’s A Natural Woman, sung by our own Marsh Cowan.
Globe Miami Centennial Band is a local, all-volunteer group of about 30 musicians. In their ninth season, the group includes professional and amateur musicians from age 14 to over 84 and rehearses every Thursday at Miami High School. The Fall Concert is free, although donations are always welcome.
Visitors are welcome to our rehearsals by text or e-mail beforehand. For more information, call 928-200-9100 or e-mail to nolanefrost@gmail.com.
