Carmen Slough turns 107

Posted

Carmen Slough, who is very near and dear to our Globe Downtown hearts, turned 107 on Monday, April 5. She is a huge supporter of Globe’s downtown businesses, events and success. Carmen is a retired downtown Globe business owner (CarmEd’s, Broad & Sycamore), a daughter of Spanish immigrants, and has now lived to see two global pandemics (among many more delightful things). Carmen is currently an active gardener, culinary goddess, and cheerful keeper of both her house and all affairs current and historical.

Sharp as a tack and with a smile to win over any heart, Carmen admits that her dancing shoes are finally resting a bit.

Don’t let that fool you; we see her digging in her garden, playing with her dog and out and about with her walking stick in hand. We always know she is up to something fabulous.

The Globe Downtown Association would like to thank our dear Carmen for all of the years of continuous support.
