Three new images have been added to the Floyd/Jordan Sims memorial prior to the candlelight vigil on Sunday night at April Crick’s building on Hwy 60. Myron Starr added a picture of Jordan as an Angel, and Karen Kenyon and her three children put up a quote by Martin Luther King on the wall beside Floyd’s portrait.
More than two dozen people showed up for the event. Mother, Deborah Sanchez and step-father Marty Sanchez spoke in front of the building expressing their feelings now that six months has passed since Sims’ death in the custody of the Safford Police Department.
Since then only one DPS investigator has been put on the case, an Officer Monaco.
Meanwhile, her lawyers are pursuing a civil suit in the alleged wrongful death of Sims.
