GLOBE — Robert Burries, Jr (Bj) is a junior and a point gaurd at Globe High School.

On Friday, Jan. 12 he set another career record for himself, scoring 2,000 points.

When Bj was presented the basketball, his team, the Globe Tigers surrounded him in celebration excited for his milestone.

When asked how it feels setting another record and what are his goals his answers were “First I would like to thank God. Everything wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for him.”

“Feels amazing breaking another record. But I still got a lot more to accomplish.” Bj said.

“My goals are to graduate from high school. Hopefully go to an Division 1 college then NBA. But my main focus is to get good grades and pass my Act/Sat test. I just really want to play Division 1 basketball. Hopefully someone offers me” he continued..

During the  basketball season the stands seam to fill with more fans and Bj has become a name people know in many towns.

He was asked how it feels knowing the seats are crowded and the cheering is so loud you can’t hear the person next to you speak.

“It feels amazing. Everyone coming out and supporting us is the best feeling. We need everyone to come and show love even to the girls teams and Jv boys. We all need the support. We’re one big family.” said Bj.

There are even young fans who want to play ball like Burries one day and his advice for them is

“For the young players coming, you boys and girls should focus on school first. If you can’t get the grades, you can’t play ball. Don’t drink or smoke. don’t hang out with those people. Stay in the gym, workout. If you really want to be great, you have to put in the work.”

The Globe Tigers next  few games will be away, but they will host Safford on Friday, Jan. 26 with Jv starting at 2:30 p.m.
