Braves JV bests Globe as season draws to a close

Coming into the last game of the regular season, the San Carlos Braves junior varsity basketball team played 16 games this season and won 13 of them.

Globe has only won five out of the same number of games, so it was no surprise that San Carlos JV won 48-36 according to the score book.

Freshman, No. 3, Brian Cassa scored the most for San Carlos, bringing in nine points. Freshmen Gerald Phillips, III, and Jeremiah Kenton each scored eight points in the game.

Reppert Cassadore, III and Kaden Phillips each scored points. Junior, Malachai Martinez also put in three baskets for six points.

For Globe, Julius Chee and Roman King scored 10 points each, and Nick Perez scored nine. Jared Garcia and Andrews Penrod each scored two points. Moddox Victor made three points and Dawson Shaffer scored one.

No. 32, Martinez started things off for San Carlos and Roman King replied for Globe. Cassa pushed San Carlos ahead by two, leaving the score 4-2.

Martinez hit a basket and Cassa followed him to the hoop. Score 6-2. Roman King hit for Globe, but Kenton made a basket and then another to make the score 10-4.

By the end of the quarter, the score was 12-6, and by the beginning of the fourth quarter the score was 40-21 but the Tigers rallied behind Julius Chee’s two regular baskets and a 3-pointer, and Victor’s 3-pointer to outscore San Carlos in the final quarter 17-8.
