Billie Margaret Acevedo was born on September 1, 1928 to O.W. and Robbie Shipp Winans. She entered into rest on December 8, 2017 at her home in Lakeside, Arizona surrounded by loved ones.

Billie loved dancing, singing, laughing and attending happy hour. She never met a stranger and lived life to the fullest. She was hardworking, loyal and had a big heart.

Billie was known for her delicious tamales all across the state. Her children are carrying on the tradition. She served as the mayor of Miami for two years in the 80’s and was very active in the PTA and the town of Miami.

She was married to the love of her life, Manuel Acevedo for 67 years. They have 7 children, 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. 

Manuel and Billie loved going to breakfast at Hon-Dah Casino and happy hour at El Rancho where they frequently met their many friends that they made throughout the years.

Billie is survived by her husband, Manuel Acevedo, her daughters Debbie Barcon, Paulette Fongemie (Roger), Laurie Maxwell, Annette Lopez, (Tony) and Janet Acevedo (Deedee). Her sons Bill Acevedo (Linda) and Edward Acevedo (Sandy). She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Evelyn and Peggy, her brother Richard and her grandchildren Caasi and Seth Lopez.

Billie was a loving wife, m9other, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed but the wonderful memories we have of her will live in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
