Tucson — At the 2017 Arizona State Leadership Conference for Future Farmers of America held at the University of Arizona, Madeline “Maddie” Marie Belling received the J.R. Cullison Award for Future Agriculture Educators. She was recognized by her local FFA Chapter at their annual awards dinner on May 5 in Globe, where she resides.
Madeline serves others through agriculture literacy and agriculture education at local schools, including Copper Rim and Charles A. Bejarano Elementary schools and High Desert Middle School. She also travels with her fellow FFA members to schools in Superior, Kearny, Ray, and Winkelman.
Maddie will be a junior at Globe High School in the fall. She is in her third year of raising dairy and meat goats.
In addition to agriculture, Madeline volunteers for the High Desert Humane Society and Cobre Valley Center for the Arts Summer Youth Musical Theater Program.
