B-Town 4th of July tournament held intense competition

The giant B-Town Fourth of July basketball tournament got underway on July 5 at 6 p.m. with 18 men’s teams and seven women’s teams vying for the $500 championship prize.

Second and third place got T-shirts.  N.O.I.C. took first in the men’s category, beating The Heat, and the Sugga Mommas bested The Sparks for the Women’s championship.

The Blazers took third for the men, and third place for the women went to ABC.

Play continued all day Saturday and Sunday, for old stars and current high school students.

The Guasave team, who lost to the Heat on Sunday featured Shawn Pietila former football coach of San Carlos High School and stars BJ Burries lately of Globe High School, Al Case, and Louis Ironshell, for The Heat, the eventual 2nd place winners Latrell Titla from Fort Thomas contributed blocks and shots.
