Armida Yniguez Huerta passed away peacefully with family members by her side.

Armida, a native of Arizona, met her husband Longie in Miami, Arizona. They married in 1953 and celebrated 64 memorable years together.

She had amazing cooking talents and was tenacious in keeping her home very clean and organized. She had a very strong will and would accomplish anything that she would put her mind to. Armida did not attend high school, but she did acquire her G.E.D. all while being a housewife and a mother and holding down a job.

She was always happy when sharing her great home-cooked meals with family and friends.

Armida was preceded in death by her mother Adela Yniguez; father, Ysauro Yniguez; sisters, Isabel Yniguez, Angela Martinez, Enedina Jimenez; brothers, Jerry Yniguez and Richard Yniguez; mother-in-law, Ruby Benzor; father-in-law, Geracimo Huerta; stepfather-in-law, Angel Benzor; sisters-in-law, Mary Huerta Lopez and Rosie Childs, and her brother-in-law, Peter Delgadillo.

She is survived by her husband Manuel (Longie); daughter, Angela Brooks (Ron); sons, Patrick (Debbie), Richard (Caroline); sisters, Linda (Ray) Garcia, Josie (David) Dominguez; brothers, George Ramirez, Robert (Maria)Yniguez, Basil (Mary) Yniguez, Benny (Claudia) Yniguez; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Armida is also survived by her sister-in-law, Hope (Edward) Castellanos; sister-in-law, Glory Cortez and brother-in-law Elias (Marilyn) Huerta.

Heartfelt thanks go to all our family and friends for their well wishes and to the caregivers at Holy Name Assisted Living Residence in Chandler Arizona, and Shanti Hospice.

Visitation will take place Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 9 a.m. at Our lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Miami, Arizona. Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Internment at Mountain Breeze Cemetery in Miami, Arizona.
