Annual Christmas Light parade in Globe Dec 8

Posted

The Globe Downtown Association is pleased to partner with the City of Globe to host the Annual Christmas Light Parade.

This Saturday, Dec. 8 event, will have the theme of “The Music of Christmas.” Think about a favorite Christmas song and bring it to life in lights.

The parade begins at dusk, and will have a new route this year, stretching from the teepee by Cottonwood, all the way down to Yuma Street by the train trestle. Join the Globe Downtown Association for the parade beginning, and end with the assistance from the City of Globe, City of Globe Public Works Department and the City of Globe Police Department.

Come early to visit downtown merchants, enjoy hot coffee, cocoa, fudge and more. Come play at the Depot for the annual “Read on Express” event. Watch and/or participate in the annual Broad Street Beard Battle, listen to carolers, enjoy the amazing musical talents on the CVCA bandstand, and wait to see Santa ride in his favorite Globe vintage firetruck.

The parade will begin just after dusk (6 p.m.-ish). Dress appropriately, as the event will take place rain or shine.

Applications available at Cobre Valley Center for the Arts, the Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce, the City of Globe and the law office above CVS Pharmacy.

The cutoff date for entry is the Friday prior to the parade, with early bird specials prior to that.
