Publisher Sherri Davis is pleased to announce the hiring of Annie Vaugier as editor of the Arizona Silver Belt, Copper Country News and the San Carlos Apache Moccasin.
Vaugier brings 16 years of publishing experience to the local Globe-Miami news market. Her print and digital media background includes serving as publisher and managing editor of community news publications, regional magazines and various corporate and non-profit media outlets.
Throughout her career, her writing style has bridged breaking news with community editorial to create an informational, educational and inspirational experience for all readers.
“I am pleased to be a part of the Globe-Miami community and look forward to getting involved in local civic activities and volunteer opportunities,” Vaugier said.
Added Davis, “We are excited to have Annie as part of our team. Her experience, writing ability and professionalism will be great additions to our newspapers.”
Vaugier takes the place of Marc Marin, who has been with the Silver Belt and Apache Moccasin since August 2008 and with the Copper Country News since April 2010. Marin has accepted a position at Miami Jr./Sr. High School, where he will teach English and journalism and continue to coach the varsity girls basketball team.
