Animal Care & Control to hold pet adoption fairs

Posted

Gila County — In response to popular demand, Gila County Animal Care & Control will host two June pet adoption fairs, offering several dogs and cats in its vibrantly decorated mobile adoption trailer.

The first event will be held Friday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tractor Supply Store, located at 2260 E. Highway 60 in Miami. The second fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 16, outside the Pet Club at 101 W. Aero Drive in Payson.

Pets shown at the fairs will be from the Gila County Animal Shelter in Globe. Other pets may be on hand from additional agencies. Both dogs and cats will be available, with discounted adoption fees of $50 versus the $140 regular fee.

Kittens may also be available. Adoption fees include annual registration and county tag, neuter/spay, initial rabies shot, microchipping, and a free toy. This special pricing will be valid only at the adoption fairs. Gila County Animal Care & Control encourages all residents who adopt a pet at these fairs to register it annually with the county and keep its vaccinations current.
