Andru Omar Miles, age 22 of Globe, Arizona, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on April 18, 1995. Andru was a preemie, born a few weeks early. His first days of life were spent in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital; where his family continuously prayed and stayed by his side until he was well enough to go home.

As a baby, Andru was happy and smiled and laughed a lot. As a boy, he was intelligent, kind and patient. He loved to build things with Legos, and anything he could find. Give him a stick and he would make a bow and arrow or a spear to play with. From Kindergarten through 8th grade he attended Holy Angels Catholic School in Globe, Arizona. After this he went on to Miami High School (where he was selected to participate in the American Legion Boys State and National Honor Society) through his junior year. While attending MHS, and summers home from college, he worked alongside his family at Midstate Pipe; where he learned the value of hard work. He finished up his high school education as a senior at Florence High School. During his senior year at FHS he wrestled and participated in The National Honor Society as well as the National Society of High School Scholars. Upon graduation in 2013, he graduated in the top 10% of his class. He was awarded several scholarships, including both the Buick Achievers Scholarship and a scholarship from Arizona State University. So began his college career at ASU; where he was wrapping up his senior year as a Communications major.

In college he discovered his love of sales and sought to perfect this skill through participation in the sales club, for which he was an officer, and won an award for top sales pitch while competing for the ASU W.P. Carey School of Business. Throughout his life he loved to camp, hunt and fish, spend time with his family, loved children and his dog Wilbur. He brought so much joy to those who loved him and lived his life as a beloved Son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Andru will always be remembered for his unconditional love, beautiful smile, kindness, generosity, intelligence, loving nature and strong work ethic. A “True Gentleman.”
