Alice Pastor Benitez, age 87, of Miami, Arizona passed away on April 5, 2017 at Dr.’s Choice Assisted Living in Mesa, Arizona. She was born in Miami, Arizona on Sept. 27, 1929, the daughters of Ysabel (Heredia) and Antonio Pastor.

She worked as a loan officer for the Valley National and Chase Banks. She was raised and went to school in Miami, graduating from Miami High School in 1948. She lived and worked in California for a year. She was a teller. She returned and married Pedro “Pete” Rivera.

She started at Valley National Bank in 1954. She worked for 33 years. She loved to bowl and bowled and competed for many years. She loved being outdoors. Alice did a lot of volunteer work after retiring. She was the bookkeeper for several local clubs. She was the Volunteer of the Year for Gila County, was very active with Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, and she delivered meals for Meals on Wheels for the Miami Senior Center.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ysabel and Antonio Pastor; her siblings, Enrique “Kikes” Pastor, Frank Pastor, Tony Pastor, Mike Pastor, Angel Perez, Margie Pastor Nava, and Vera Tellez. Alice is survived by her husband, Pedro Benitez of Miami; son, Hector Benitez (Patricia) of Mesa, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Miami. Rosary will follow at 9:40 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. with burial at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens.
