A Globe man was recently arrested and charged with attempted murder, along with other charges, after shots were fired at a residence south of town.
On March 22 at 2:53 p.m., the Gila County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received several 911 calls regarding shots fired at a residence on Huie Street in the Little Acres area south of Globe. Deputies along with detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Gila County Drug, Gang, and Violent Crimes Task Force responded to the scene. The initial investigation revealed no injuries were sustained and the suspect had fled the scene.
At approximately 11:36 p.m., deputies and detectives located the vehicle and the suspect at a residence in the Country Club Manor area. With the assistance of the Globe and Miami Police Departments, a search warrant was executed on March 23 and one male subject was arrested.
Joshua Anthony Kumparak, 37, of Globe, Arizona, was booked into the Gila County Jail on charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and misconduct involving a weapon as a prohibited possessor.
Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd thanked the Globe Police Department and Miami Police Department for their coordinated response.
