On October 19, 2017, at approximately 2:51 p.m., Detectives from the Gila County Drug, Gang, and Violent Crimes Task Force assisted a San Carlos Apache Police Department Detective with a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 70 milepost 255. Also found in the vehicle were several knives, a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun, and air soft rifles. The street value of the Methamphetamines seized is estimated at $30,200.00. As a result of the investigation:

In a coordinated effort between the San Carlos Apache Police Department and the Gila County Drug, Gang, and Violent Crimes Task Force, Michael Edward McDaniel was booked into the Gila County Jail for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of a Dangerous Drug for Sale, Transportation of a Dangerous Drug for Sale, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, Misconduct Involving a Weapon in a Drug Offense, and Misconduct Involving a Weapon as a Prohibited Possessor.
